All yacht charter reservations made through BodrumYachtLife are subject to the following rules, in accordance with maritime customs and international charter standards. By confirming the reservation, these terms are deemed accepted by the charterer.
• Navigation Safety: Should the Port Authority impose a sailing ban (Port Embargo) on the day of the cruise due to adverse weather or safety concerns, the tour will be postponed to an alternative date by mutual agreement.
• Refund Policy: If a suitable alternative date cannot be arranged, the payment made will be refunded in full. Light rain or wind (conditions not warranting a sailing ban) cannot be cited as a reason for cancellation.
• Substitute Yacht: In the event of a technical malfunction on the yacht on the day of the tour that prevents its operation, our company is obliged to provide a substitute yacht of equivalent standards.
• Refund: If a substitute yacht cannot be provided, all payments made by the client will be refunded at 100%.
For yacht charter bookings, as the yacht is reserved and unavailable for other requests during those dates, the following tiered cancellation policy applies:
• 60 Days or More Before the Tour Date: 20% of the total charter fee will be deducted as a service/operational charge, and the remaining amount will be refunded.
• Between 30 and 60 Days: 50% of the total reservation fee will be deducted as a penalty.
• Less Than 30 Days: No refund or date change will be made. 100% of the total amount will be charged as a cancellation penalty (No-Show).
• For cancellations made less than 48 hours before the tour date, the costs of special provisions, food, beverages, and extra services (e.g., organization, decoration) ordered in advance at the client’s request are non-refundable.
• The Captain has the authority to change the route or terminate the tour if they perceive a risk to maritime safety, life, or property. In such safety-related situations, no refund can be claimed.
• Should the yacht’s capacity be exceeded, the Captain has the authority to refuse to commence the tour, and this will be considered a client error.
• Approved refund amounts will be processed within [7-14] business days from the cancellation notification, via the original payment channel (Credit Card/EFT) used by the client.
The yacht charter industry, unlike standard service sectors, requires high operational costs and extensive logistical preparations. The reasons for implementing these rules are as follows:
• Loss of Reservation: When a yacht is reserved, all other inquiries for those dates are declined. In the event of last-minute cancellations, it is extremely difficult to re-book the yacht and recover the financial loss within the maritime calendar.
• Operational Preparations: Personnel planning, port logistics, and technical preparations commence days before the tour date. These processes incur irreversible costs for our company.
• Service Quality: The established cancellation policies are designed in accordance with international maritime standards to ensure we can provide you and our other guests with the highest quality, comprehensive, and well-planned service.
